Of course, I have something to say.
I have twice been in the position of being asked to bowl on a certain team in a local scratch league (two different teams, two different years). Both years, I said yes. I then turned down several other offers from other teams, because I'd made my committment. BOTH TIMES, when it came time for the league to start (not before), I was told by the teams I'd committed to that they found another bowler with my average that they felt would give them a better chance to win. One year I was unable to get on another team. The next year, I was.
Point being - I made my committments seriously, and turned down other, better opportunities because of those committments. My fellow bowlers did not feel the same way, and I got the short end of the stick both times. I STILL resent being treated that way.
What's funny, is that now that I've gone through the improvements they thought I could make, they want me on their teams for tournaments... Guess what my answer is???

One advantage of bowling over golf
is that you seldom lose the ball.
