Any larger guys going 2handed?
« on: April 06, 2010, 06:30:31 PM »
Im a big guy 6'1" 300+lbs.  Now, i know i could physically do it, especially since i almost have a skip step in my approach already.  My main concern is my back.  Have any bigger guys tried going 2 handed at all?  If so, how was the strain on your body?

Im having a few wrist problems, as well as a very minor elbow problem.

Im 5'11 230, kinda stocky guy. Ill admit, at first a few years ago, I would go to bed with a sore stiff lower back and my left shoulder was hurting. After a few years of my body getting used to it, I hardly have any problems. The only time I have a problem is if I take some time off from it and then my back will be a bit stiff in the morning.

rofl, thx for making me feel even fatter guys.

My 1 handed game has a lot of bend in my back anyway.  Basically im all upper body, im 6'1" with a 28" inseam, so ive got little legs & a long torso.  Im considering giving it a shot when i go practice sometime soon, just to see what happens.

im 6'1 280 and i dont throw 2 handed normally, but ive done it for a few games here and there in practice just to see how it goes, i never felt much pain in my back, but i find that if i do a hop step at the end i dont slide as much and it hurts my knee more than my slide does when i bowl 1 handed.

but to clear up the knee problem, ive had my knee cap twisted around when i was 16 and playing baseball so sudden stops are never good for it..
