Title: Any of you tried this?
Post by: 9andaWiggle on February 23, 2004, 08:59:40 PM
I have an old ball that's not worth anything, so I'm thinking of doing some experimenting with it.  Anyone used the grip I hear Robert Smith uses - where the ring finger is drilled conventional and the middle left fingertip?  I know this will reduce revs, but I was wondering if this created release problems, or if it still comes off smoothly?  Also, will it cause the ball to hook up and roll earlier, or create more slide?  Anything else to be wary of? Thanks for any info.

I haven't done it personally, but I do know of a few people that have tried it.  The result do vary on the person though.  For Robert Smith it dropped his rev rate very little, but made him roll the ball more / stay more up the back.  For an average person (not maximum Bob) it will decrease your rev rate some and may change your release point.

Try it out on a ball...you might like it??
