I'm trying to make a new arsenal. Any suggestions on a good 3-4 ball arsenal would be great. I'm not exclusive to any company so i'll roll anything. But I don't want to mix and match bowling balls from different companies.

Replies to this question should be very interesting ... considering the passion that the various BR roomies have for their particular brands.

BTW, the Legends/LaneMasters Forum already has an answer to this question, although it could be elaborated on upon request.
Good luck to you, and let us know what you decide upon ...

Choose a company. Buy that company's mid-priced line. Probably that's a more-or-less complete arsenal that will cover a very wide variety of conditions well. You can do that with Storm's Fire line, Brunswick's BVP line, DT's Vendettas, Track's Heats, Roto-grip's Horizon/RS line, Columbia's U-turn/Drive line,...

I'm leaning more towards the BVP line right now than anything else. Just curious....with the same drilling and out of box surface, which ball (Wizard or Ambush) would be better suited for long oil?

For longer oil, I'd go with the recently discontinued Goliath (if it's heavy oil as well). Enough traction and roll to bite through it. For more modest volumes, either should work well. The Ambush may require some additional surface, maybe at least knocking the shine off of it in order to stop skidding, but the Wizard/Nemesis, with its duller cover, should roll alright.

I'd really suggest Track, Visionary, or Roto Grip. Tracks hit like crazy and they last. I would suggest perhaps A Machine for medium to heavy oil, Arsenal Artillery or Heat Blast for medium, and a Desert Heat for dry. For Visionary, get the Gargoyles...Granite for medium to heavy, Green for medium, and either Slate Blue for Dry or the Violet Gargoyle for light to medium. The price is right on this line of balls too. From Roto Grip I'd suggest an Epic for medium heavy, Horizon for medium, and Saturn for medium light. These are also great balls at good prices.

I like shelley's idea myself. Just choose a company and buy their mid-line equipment. Not saying the top line arent good, just the mid line can provide as good, if not better performance and are cheaper as well. BTW, do you go to N.C.State? I noticed the signature.

To wulfpackbwlr...yeah i do go to State. To Drrev2000 I'm moving up in weight to 15. Everything I have now is 14 lbs. I'm also going to go to a different proshop and see if I can't get a better service.
