ABC Hall of Fame and Museum

Anyone here been to the bowling museum in St. Louis?  Going by the website, it looks like a great time.  I was thinking about heading there since I'm not that far away.  What did you think of it when you were there?

It's right across the street from Busch Stadium and the Marriott I believe.  Been right in front of it but never in. There is some much to see in St. Louis, I'm going to need to make another trip.  Someone told me they had lanes in the basement with pinboys.

We visited two years ago.  Lots of history of the game with well done displays.  Be prepared to read, because each area has a ton of information printed on large posters.  In the basement there are probably hundreds of bowling balls from all eras.  We had fun looking at those and imagining how they fit the hand.  There are  old lanes that you can walk behind and see where the pin chasers worked.  Then there are two sets of lanes, one Brunswick and one AMF, that you can bowl on.  They're supposed to be latest scoring and surface technology, but when we were there the Brunswick stuff was at least one generation behind what we had in our new center.  Don't bother taking in a ton of your own equipment.  When we bowled, the lanes were drier than dry, to the point where I, a fluffer with no hand (at that time), was hooking plastic most of the lane.

Have fun!
