Any way to get copies of PBA telecasts?
« on: July 16, 2004, 06:29:42 AM »
There are a few PBA telecasts I would like to get ahold of on video if possible. Not sure if anyone has tapes or knows how to get tapes. But any help would be appreciated.

Just to be specific I was looking for the 1981 PBA Seattle Open, the 1991 BPAA US Open, the 2001 PBA Great Lakes Classic, and the 2004 BPAA US Open telecasts.

PM (private message) RandyO on this site. He has a ton of old shows on DVD. Maybe he has what you are looking for.

Don't bother - I don't have the 1981 or the 1991 show, and the 2001 show I only have a "partial" -  and it isn't a very good quality recording either.

And as much as I would like to be a nice guy and loan everybody my shows - I would prefer to keep them here - as they do get damaged easily - and loaned things sometimes don't get returned - plus it would be illegal for me to start a lending library or sell copies of shows that I have. Your best bet would be to sign up for "Strikepass" on the PBA website - then beg them to make available the shows you want. They have been known to "take requests". You also get to watch match play that precedes the televised finals. I don't subscribe myself due to my slow dial-up connection and lack of time to watch it, but I hear it's not too bad!
