Post by: cudaskater123 on June 01, 2008, 03:23:15 AM
Hey everybody, does anybody know the cheapest way to send bowling balls. Ive checked FedEx and UPS and they are both like $60 for 2 balls.

I'm guessing they quoted you at a next day or 2nd day air, tell them you just want ground or whatever's the cheapest lol and if it's still that high maybe try DHL or UPS

skater ... curious to know if you are using a SUB STATION or an actual UPS/FX station? Those sub sta really have HIGH prices! If you have a KINKO nearby .. they have good pricing!

Freight, but only really if you have several hundred to ship.

If Fedex or UPS quoted you $60 for two balls, you've selected the wrong shipping options.  Should be $30-ish at the most unless you're shipping across the world.

Yup, I have to agree with some of the others. You possibly selected a wrong option along the way.

I just did a 35 lb package shipped to a residence (always more expensive) (two 16 lb balls) shipped from New Jersey to Ft Lauderdale, FL. Ground was $28 with $100.00 insurance.

That $28 includes a residential surcharge of $1.95 AND a fuel surcharge of $2.03.

I could see $60.  I just shipped a 14lb ball and it was $25 from WA state to Wisconsin.

a hint when shipping fedex. Ship on a tuesday, its much cheaper. They charge more if it has to be on a plane during the weekend. example: If it takes 3 days or less to get to its destination and you ship it out on tuesday so its gets there by friday it will be less then if the package had to wait through the weekend. Like if you shipped it out on wednesday and its expected date was 3 business days so it gets there on monday it would be cheaper to send it on tuesday because it doesnt wait during the weekend. sorry if its confusing
Also it doesnt work for mondays. they charge extra if u ship on monday

cliffs: Ship on tuesdays

wait what?
