Anyone else?
« on: October 30, 2013, 03:10:23 PM »
Anyone else's house shot make just about every single ball, regardless of strength or drill, play within a board or two of each other?

I've got a Tribal, Venom Toxin, Raptor Talon, Cruel Intent and Hammer Spike with VERY different drills, and the shot at my house forces me to play them all within two boards of each other.

I'm 100% positive that it's the shot, and once I get on a sport shot or something like that the difference between all the balls and drills will be magnified, but it's frustrating in that I feel like what's the point of new stuff? lol.

Just so you know, we just recently got synthetics put in, within two years, and the backends are notoriously weak. It sucks because you can see all the balls revving up and trying to go at different times, but then they all just slowly walk in, at the same point on the lane. Even surface adjustments do hardly anything. Same line between 1000 and 4000+polish, with VERY SLIGHT change in shape.

Matt,

yes it sucks when you have a low end ball, that ends up doing the same thing as a high end ball...  it really makes it kind of a crap shoot when you go bowl somewhere else and you are not really sure how a new ball will react..

its usually even worse for the proshop..  try telling someone they need ball X for 200$ when ball Z does the same thing and costs 100$....

I see the same thing on all of my OOB stuff from Roto and storm.
Experiments on a fresh shot. Six games with 6 different balls.  Same line.  The balls all broke at different points but they all ended up in the pocket without changing speed direction or target.
14lb 15.5 mph at pins 325 Revs. Silver Coach, Ball Driller. In Bag:  Storm Pro-Motion, Hyroad X, Matchup, Code Red.

I  see this at the house I bowl in on Mondays. I used to have the pro shop there before health concerns caused me to close it. It was always fun telling a customer to throw it somewhere other than here to see the difference in you balls
