Anyone ever have a 320 sanded ball???

I had my Icon 300 sanded down the other day, and I asked him what he used and he said 320. Has anyone ever had a ball sanded with that before? It should be for heavy oil, and have better grip in the flood, that's what I wanted it for, but I was curious as too the 320. thanks.

sounds like a burgandy scotch brite if I'm not mistaken.........yes, great for heavy oil...

so hitting it with a burg. scotch will keep it in the same shape after use? I'm hoping that surface on that ball should make it perfect in the oil.

I've used 320 once on a Pro Zone Azure.

It was nice it allowed to me to swing about 1 board when everyone else could not get flush, glancing surface moving balls.  

I was able to really pound that day.  Too bad I found sparemaking difficult!

I have used all legal grits for surfaces before with wet/dry sandpaper.  320 is great in heavy oil but that's something I wouldnt do again, unless I am resurfacing a ball.

I've even used 220 grit before.  I took this ball to my nationals and threw it on 45ft 1-1 150 units of oil...layed by a kegle.  so there were no bumps what so ever.  If anyone knows what I am talking about, then you'll understand how hard these lanes were.

but then again, that was before when I use to be a graceful stroker...now I am a tweener/power stroker and my equipment is more prepared for oil like that w/o the heavy grit surface.

You can keep up that 320 grit with wet/dry sandpaper or a burgundy scotch brite.

The burgundy Scotch-Brites are reportedly 320, although they seem more like 400 to me.  I guess that's nitpicking.  Sandpaper is readily available in both 320 and 400 grit.

The Granite Gargoyle has a 320 finish out of the box, and it feels like it too.  That ball is a tractor.
