Missing my mark
« on: March 06, 2007, 01:24:41 AM »
Greetings.
I am left eye dominant and bowl right handed.
I consistently miss my mark 5 to 7 boards to the left.
I have overcome this at pistol shooting tourns but not in my bowling.
My right foot is on 20 board. I aim at the 5 board and my ball hits the 10-12 boards on a regular basis.
Hope this is enough info.
Thanks for any help you all can offer.

Your problem could be early timing, by having early timing you tend to miss your target inside.

I also miss my mark 2-3 boards right consistently (left handed).  I also noticed that when I look at where I slide it is a couple of boards right of where I want to end up.  I tried for a while to correct this with horrendous results, so now I just know I have to look a couple of boards left of where I want to throw and I have no problem at all rolling the ball over where I want it to go, and my accuracy has improved ever since.  Hope this helps!!!

I'm also left eye dominant and right handed. I have learned to look a few extra boards to the right to hit what I want to hit. For example at arrows if I want to be at 15 I will look at 12. It was really weird to do the first few times I did this but once I got use to it works really well I also increased my average due to being more accurate.

"copied from above post" ME TOO!!!

BUT in my case it depends on my focus for the night, if I am focused and actually tring I don't miss, come to think of it I have not had much trouble with this since slowing myself down and going to a 5 step approach. this = being more in time for me.... May work for you may not..
