Anyone got the same idea as mine?

Using a motor of a standing fan, or wall fan to create a ball spinner?

Anyone thought of these before?

dev,

Just guessing on this, but have been a confirmed "fix-it" guy for years.

My guess is that a fan motor just wouldn't have the power needed to use for a spinner. Would probably need at least a 1/2 horsepower motor for that and I don't think a small fan would have nearly that much.

Probably need something like a washing machine motor or something along those lines. Something with a lot of torque. Might be able to find one at the appliance repair shop for cheap, maybe.

You can use just about any motor. I have tried and found that a 1/2 horse is about the best(swamp cooler motor..I live in the desert). The problem I ran into was a stand. Something that had the clearance for the pulley and still was stable. (still improving) Getting the speed is no real problem, just have to find the right size pulley for what speed you are looking for. My next step is adjustable speeds. For that, I used a light dimmer switch. That will 'slow down' the motor in case you didn't get the ratio of pulley to meet your speeds.

Good Luck !

I've a fan which have 3 types of speed, I just don't have the concept on how I gonna make it into a pulley system.
