I have a friend that's going to nationals, and he'd like to know which ball has the smoother reaction. I'm inclined to say the Messenger, although I've never thrown either of them. Any help would be appreciated!

Forget Kung Fu, I know Ron Bahr!!!
The only difference between youth and adult leagues are that the big boys are allowed to whine. They're more entertaining anyway.

The messenger for sure. It's a solid versus a pearl. That and the ball had more midlane roll to it than the eraser.

sometimes you can find technical data on bowlingballreviews.com

Bowling? Of course it's a sport.

Not sure on the Columbia, but the Eraser is
2.539 rg and .050 diff

Just chimin' in !

Ok, thanks. He's wanting to use them on toast though, and I don't think that's possible. Of the two, the Eraser hooks hardly at all, it seems to have died somewhat. It'll hardly hook two boards at a house I can hook the lane with a Viper at. But I just don't think either of them will do what he's wanting.

Ah, another thing to clarify, he just wants the one that won't be jumpy. He wants to use them on toast, like I said, but he just wants the one that will be more controllable.

If he is looking for something that is more controllable...but for toast I would say to look at the Sonic-X or possibly a Tour Power with the correct drilling and surface prep. I've got a N.I.B. 16lb Tour Power with a 5.5" pin that will get him down the lane REALLY well.

Lol, I guess I should REALLY clarify. He owns both of these balls, he's had them for a while. He's wanting to mess with the coverstocks, and just wonders which one won't get really flippy if he polishes it. He's not going to buy anything.

oh...thanks for the clarification.
I would say that a polished messenger would be less flippy. However, neither are really good for a dry condition. For screaming backends he might to hit one of them with a scotch brite pad...since the slightly non-polished surface will cut down any over reaction to the friction.
