leftside, badshot and trying have it right - all of these build wrist and forearm strength. When doing the wirst curls leftside suggests, sit down and lay your forearms face up on your thighs, w/ your wrists right at the knees. When you let the weight roll to your fingers, your wrists will bend over your knees - work your way all the way back.
When you use the rope routine, keep your arms straight out in front of you
both of these will make your forearm muscles BURN. When they burn, you are building strength.
