Are the pitches in the thumb new or have you had them for a while. What are the finger pitches? If you have a thumb slug already, it is easy to change the slug and try something different without plugging your ball. You want pitches that help you not try to copy someone else. Sometimes a little forward helps you grip the ball better and a little reverse helps you clear the thumb faster. Lateral right helps you come around the ball better and lateral left helps you come up the back of the ball better. (IMO) most people that use left lateral have fairly strong wrist. There is a lot of good ball drillers on this site that can help you out. I would go to a good pro shop in your area and have them look at your over all layout or watch you bowl before you make drastic changes. I have seen a lot of good bowlers get their selves jacked up overall trying to experiment with their thumb pitches.
