"In box condition this ball is a hook monster. For me it has a small midlane read but for the most part it goes about 45 feet and makes a hard left turn. a couple of times I actually ducked because i thought it was going to come all the way around and smack me in the face."

Pins got legs?  My ten pins must have the legs of a sumo wrestler then.

COR is basically how much energy is transferred from one object to another when they collide... so if a ball is said to have a higher COR it will transfer more energy to the pins when it hits them... I've only ever seen one ball (YEARS ago, maybe the quake?) that actually stated in the advertising that it had a higher COR...

If it doesnt have much midlane it doesn't hook that much.

Here's a new one also, for a Virtual Energy that's pretty funny.

Here's some excerpts, LoL:
quote:
"I have mines drilled pin under...

I have used it so far on a house shot that I can hardly use on it because it is really strong in the backend that I like but just not for the house shots I bowl on. I bowl in a sport league where we have the kegel shots and it works great on the one I bowled on so far, which is what I drilled it for. I bowled on the beaten path pattern and its really clean and strong in the backend but a little too strong. I had to put it away because I was leaving a lot of 7 pins, which meant it had a lot of angle and power.

Good luck to everyone that grabs their hand on this ball its awesome!"

Ha ha, that's funny stuff there.

Side note: I have heard the Faball Blue Hammer, if released today, would be illegal due to having too high a COR.

What I can't figure out is how you manipulate COR in a bowling ball other than changing the weight or the surface hardness, and a Blue Hammer isn't exactly rock-hard as far as balls go.

I haven't heard of the COR being a legal matter for bowling balls? Anyway, a Blue Hammer REALLY hits hard - even though with low margin for error.
AFAIK, the COR, of a ball's efficiency to transfer its impact energy, is defined by the object's density and its "resounding" to the impact. When I remember correctly, some manufacturers marketed their balls in the late 90ies for super-dense cores (Brunswick with Bismuth core elements in soem Zones, CeramiCore from Columbia(???)) and their "impact potential". Not sure what became of it. And the Blue Hammer, with its ultra hard and massive urtahne shell plus a dense inner core is surely an object that can do good damage!
