Need Help with Youth/Adult PBA X or Junior Gold league
« on: February 20, 2010, 03:40:51 AM »
Hello Everyone,

We are trying to put a league together for this summer on some harder patterns in our local house, which never did a league like this before. We have tried but havent had much interest from the adult, although a lot of people from the youth program are interested. So we are thinking about doing a Youth/Adult singles league or even doubles. But seeing that we havent ran a league like this before, we arent sure how to run it. If money were involved in the league payouts etc. Would the money be able to be turned into scholarship money and put into the kids'' SMART program?

Has anyone ever ran a league like this before? If so, could you please explain how it was run and how everything worked within the league. Also how it worked out at the end of the year.

Thank You for the help in advance.

We had such a league in our association last summer.  I do believe that prize money for the youth go to SMART.  Its a singles league as you've suggested.  Main problem is getting the shot down, the tapes taken and read each week and submitted to USBC.  Once you get that situation going, its a breeze.  You can get more information through the "youth" tab at this web site.   http://www.firesidebowling.com/index.html

We've done the shot taping etc. before for other PBA sweepers that were ran at this house. So that is all taken care of. But really looking for some league ideas here. Formats etc, that would involve both youth and adults and have some sort of priza at the end of the year. Whether it be cash or a ball or something.
