Use hot tap water, check that the ball is covered by water and leave it until the water becomes cold. 20-30 mins is the time I normally take for one "tour", and if I feel this has not been enough (you will "feel" if tghe ball is still greasy when yopu take it out), I'll replace the water and start another turn in the bucket. Adding some mild detergent helps a lot to extract and break up the oil, too.
Anothe thing that can occur is phazing - the colors of a ball might seem to bleach. I never had this on Ebonite or Storm balls, but Brunswick coverstocks and porous particle covers seem to be susceptible to this. Do not be alarmed. It does not affect performance, and when you refresh the surface with polish or some sanding, this disappears, as well as after some time when the balls sucks up some new lane conditioner.
