Approach cleaning at an AMF house
« on: October 21, 2010, 04:05:58 AM »
I just learned this and I can hardly believe it. So I had to share it. (Sorry, John)

John and I are both bowling at this AMF house that has had "trouble" over the past 10 years or so maintaining the house. Well, they went to HPL synthetics but kept the wood approaches. This is and was a good thing, one of the only good things about this house. It was one of the only things we didn't have to worry about. They were well maintained ... until about a month ago, when we both started having problems. Different parts were slippery and sticky at the foul line.

John asked the Facility manager what they were using to clean the approaches. He said denatured alcohol and furniture polish!!!!

When John explained about bowling and sliding, he said they would stop using furniture polish.
