Title: Are 4 Piece Cores Stronger?

What is a 4 piece core? I bought a Dyno-Thane Concept 4P and can't find info anywhere, but I can find info @123Bowl.com on the Concept 4 which is a sanded solid with a 4 piece core. One would assume that the 4P is the same ball only pearlized.

I haven't seen too many of them, but Track was known for using them throughout the 90's and actually did a version of a 4 piece core in the early 2000's with their EZ Money ball.

Yeah, I believe the Machine series and the Phoenix from Track were 4 peices.

I have a Track Synergy ETS that was advertised as a 7 piece core

The ETS wasn't a 7 piece core, it was the basically the same core as the Synergy only with a modified flip block! The density was changed in the flip block to increase differential! The reason for the changes is USBC changed what it allows ball makers to place inside the ball. The cost is also another factor, because the ball makers had to have employees build the weightblocks before they went into the cores!
