Need a little help with choosing a ball...
« on: February 01, 2009, 03:55:36 AM »
I was hoping for a little help choosing the right ball for me. I have never owned a bowling ball but want to. I bowl for fun... Average around 165 using the house ball, through from the right side of the lane with the ball hooking in towards the pocket. Any ideas on balls are greatly appreciated. If any other information is required let me know. Thank you in advance for your time and help.

For your first ball, don't waste your money on something expensive.  You need something predictable, versatile, controllable.  Stick with an entry level ball.  Go to your local pro shop and see what they have.  Storm has the Tropical Storm and the Street Rod, Columbia has the Jazz, Brunswick has the Avalanche and the Groove, Ebonite has the Tornado and the Clash and the Bash.  All are cheaper balls, but that doesn't mean they can't strike.  They are simply meant for medium to lighter oil conditions in general.
