Yeah, It's not your cyatic nerve. The pains would be in the back of your legs,
at least that's where mine is.
How is your slide? Is it long, short, smooth, or jerky.
Do you stick alot?
IF you stick, or if the approaches are slow(sticky) you might be putting
extra pressure on the knee area as you come to a stop.
As far as fixing it, I wore a brace for a while, and did a bit of walking before
I bowled to get that area warmed up instead of bowl on it cold.
With a deep knee bend, you are flexing the muscle as you come to a stop. To feel what I am talking about, you can sit on a chair with your feet flat and
legs at 90 degrees(shoes on). Try to push your feet forward, with your hands on your knee/ lower thigh area you can feel a muscle flexing, that is probable the one you are talking about.
You need to get it warmed up before you bowl.
One other thing, what kind of leg workout do you do?
