New shoes and no sliding

I just bought a new pair of shoes recently. Used them about three or four times and no problem. Used them the other day and the sliding shoe did not slide. Used some Super Slide on them and it worked for about two frames. Used it again and stopped sliding after two frames. Does anyone know any remedies to fix the non- sliding shoe problem?

It could be the approaches and the weather...humidity & synthetics don't mesh well...also the dirtier the sole, the more it will slide

If you have carpeted floors, you could try just wearing them around the house to help take the tackiness away.

If you don't have a replaceable slide sole, then you can use a white cotton sock for medium slide or a nylon dress sock for a lot more slide.

Is it the slide sole that is tacky, or is a portion of the rubber sole or heel eliminating the slide from taking place?

Either get a slide sock or invest in some shoe covers(for when you are not actually on the lanes) and a wire brush.

Please do not use super slide on your sole. It will more than likely get on the approach and change the sliding surface for other bowlers, which is illegal.

It is also very dangerous if other people are sliding a certain way all game and then all of a sudden the surface becomes 5 times slicker.

A slide sock is your best remedy.

As you can see from many of the replies, you need to describe the brand of the shoe and the sole or heel options being used (if they are adjustable shoes/soles/heels).

Yes, humidity, expecially during the summer, and rain can affect the slide of any shoe.

Someone mentioned the rubber heel.  I have used leather heels rather than rubber since 1995.  Rubber heels are very sensitive to humidity, the type of approach cleaner, and other factors on synthetic approaches.  Rubber heels don't slide well until they glaze on the front edge.  It is not uncommon for synthetic approaches to take the glaze off making the heel grab.

If you have the opportunity to change heels try the leather heel as an option.
