differentiating styles
« on: December 26, 2003, 01:57:10 AM »
Ok. Here's my problem. I know what a spinner & spinner axis is, what semi-roller axis is, what a cranker is, what a stroker is, and a what a full-roller axis is . But I don't know what a croaker, tweener, and boomer is. Are those just another names for the styles and axis I've listed above? Thanks!

Two kinds of differentiation:

1- in terms of revolution rates
-stroker
-tweener (in between)
-power player
Power player means you have giant revolutions. It has nothing to do with style.
You can either crank it or not. Crankers and power strokers are in this category.

2- in terms of style
-stroker
-cranker
Agree with tenpinitis that these terms don't have anything to do directly with one's axis. Axis rotation and axis tilt is about the swing plane and release angle. Strokers generally release the ball with almost no wrist manipulation other than rotating their fingers to counter clock wise where as crankers uncup and cup their wrist during the release with bending their elbows.

Have no idea about boomers. Could it be very high speed bowlers?
