Best low end oil ball?
« on: April 01, 2010, 08:57:37 AM »
Which ball in the current low end/entry level lines would be your best bet on a fresh medium/heavy oil THS? Riot, 505, etc.

Thanks.

Low end/entry line, Jake?

???  I guess if he really wants an oiler, why not?  It's only a $15-20 price difference between the CLutch and the Mega-Friction, Mega-Recovery, Sideways.  $110 vs $125-130.

What about a Wild Ride?  $79 for a 16lb from bowlingball.com:

Or $65 shipped for a 15lb from a seller here:

Judging from what Brunswick says, it's a great all around ball.  I can't believe it's so cheap!

quote:
Eighteen months in development, the new ConneXion coverstock has been fine-tuned to adhere to the lane providing unbelievable traction response from foul line to head pin. The Wild Ride pushes easily through the heads, staying on line to target on both light and heavy oil conditions both when the lanes are freshly oiled or when they've broken down. The wild side of the ConneXion coverstock comes alive when the ball reaches the end of the oil pattern and then aggressively connects to the back-ends.
The traction created provides a strong recoil reaction to the pocket that results in the most angular skid-snap reaction ever produced in a Brunswick ball. The aggressive connection of the Wild Ride to the lane surface inspires the confidence in the ball reaction that allows bowlers to play the lanes the way they want to.

I mean the thing works in both light and heavy conditions, freshly oiled or broken down!

For the newer balls, the Riot is looking pretty strong.
I think the R2S cover on the Furious makes it a great option if to you keep it at 2000 or dull it to 1000.  In fact, I was able to use a lightly polished Furious on Shark, the longest oil PBA pattern when my Cell was simply too much.
Raw Hammer Jacked also seems like a beast on a heavier THS.
