Asymmetrical or Symmetrical: Take Your Pick (Fun Thread)
« on: December 22, 2008, 09:22:27 PM »
What type of core do you bowl better with overall that gives you the best ball reaction, pin carry and room for error?

For me it's been asymmetrical with medium MB ratings for the last few years, I didn't care for them at first but once I thrown the Mean Machine it was money ever since with them. Just haven't found a really good symmetrical core ball since the EXP-T1 that's given me a good consistent game (except maybe the Sure Fire).

Asyms seem to work better for me I would take them anytime if you made me choose just one.

I tend to prefer symmetric cores. I tried out some high MB asymmetrical stuff, and while I got a dramatic look on the lanes and sometimes impressive impact and carry, I found them to be less versatile and condition-specific.
Therefore, I have reduced my arsenal and rather tend to buy symmetrical stuff, just because I found more room for error and wider ranges of use.

A symmetrical core becomes aysymmetric after you put holes in it. Therefore every core shape will be slightly aysymmetric.

I prefer Symmetrical cores. For whatever reason, over all they just seem to  work way better for me.

Does anyone here not use asymmetrical at all?  I think I match up better to symmetrics but there's asymmetrical balls I'd like to throw.  I just don't know if I should stay away from them completely.

Asymmetrical.  I get better pin reaction & carry.  I have a Special Agent & Dimension that for some reason I don't match as well with as Attitude Shift & Shift.

Symmetric cores for me.Asym's roll up early for me and hit like crap.
The only asym i drilled and liked was an exception 5.0 with the mb
in the track.

I have 4 Symetric Balls in my bag. Never had much luck with Asym. except for Theo One, and Black Widow Solid. I have a Dimension, T-Road Pearl, Copperhead, and Psycho. Love Them all.
