Staying behind the ball
« on: August 06, 2009, 03:55:51 AM »
Hi everbody,

I am working on keeping my forearm and elbow behind the ball until my downswing gets to my ankle. Most of the time I am practicing by myself to do it correctly, so I can't see myself I can only feel what's going on. I notice that I feel a slight tension in the inside portion of my elbow when the ball goes past my hip to my ankle. Is this the correct feeling? Is it possible if I don't feel anything, I am turning the ball early?

Thanks

When I stay behind the ball I really don't feel anything, but when I am inside the ball I will feel a pull on the inside of my elbow, which is a good thing.

Thanks. Tomorrow I will work on this in practice and also I will have my girlfriend give me feedback on where the position of my arm and hand are at the release point (right behind the ankle) and also she will videotape me. I hope I can get this down before the fall season starts. Once that happens, I will have some new equipment drilled.
