Attention League Bowlers...
« on: December 07, 2010, 02:05:30 AM »
Please leave your loudmouth wives and screaming-arse kids at home.  I didn't come to the bowling alley to here this noise.  Thank you and have a nice day!

Russell-Is it possible for you to express an idea without cursing or calling
someone, who disagrees with you, a name?  Are you that short of logic or
vocabulary?

What about drunk, loud, and obnoxious bowlers? I don't mind the kids, since they stay behind, but the guys that are drinking and get louder and more obnoxious as the night goes by.  I can't stand it when someone yells at the top of their lungs just when you're about to throw, or the guy next to you that throws a bad shot and kicks the ball return and swears at the top of his lungs because he threw a bad shot, and you're on the next lane in you're stance and focusing and ready to throw.  But then again, those are the parents of the kids that are running around and screaming.  lol.

Oh, no doubt.  My eyes caught on fire reading Russell's words and when I said them out loud, my ears bled.  Get thee to a monestary you heathen!

Have a nice day.

Actually it's been quite a while since I went after someone like that.  I actually had someone comment to me at league Tuesday night about this thread "hey I thought you had mellowed out...lol".

I'm also pretty sure that you've heard worse language that this at league.

I take my wife to league with me when I can talk her into going.

For years, when they were younger, my children went to leagues with me/us.

My 7yr old grandson goes with me now.

If you have a problem with them, PLEASE come and complain to me personally, I'll be glad to personally fix your problem so that they will no longer bother you.

You may walk awkwardly for a while though. And your average will definitely go down.

But they will no longer be a problem for you.

Of course I have heard worse than this.  However, I have had respect for your
posts in the past and this does not represent your best.  On the subject
matter, a league that I bowl in, a 70 lane center in Las Vegas, has a very
annoying problem with unsupervised children.  This is a casino and several
children have been kidnapped here in the past.  People should certainly have
more respect for the supervision of their children.  Regarding loud mouthed
cursing wives, your happiness may depend on your ability to not let these
things bother you.  Bowling is recreational fun, enjoy it to the best of your
ability--you cannot change other people, only your reaction to them.

Stop the name calling and the computer tough guy routine.  If you bring your kids to the center during league, all that is asked from you is to take care of them.  Yes, they will be loud at times, but you as parents or grandparents should be able to control them and the bowlers should be able to overlook one or two loud bursts from the kids.  Remember, its not just YOUR night for bowling but its also EVERYONE elses in your league.  Try to be courteous.  Also, if the kids are too loud and it is bothering you, then go the the parents and ask them to help. If they refuse, then go to one of the league officers.

Also for you folks that bring your kids, use your head.  If you are bowling in a highly competitive serious league, either leave the kids at home or do you best to control them. Its just being respectfull for the other bowlers in your league.

Bottom line, its all about respect for others.

If the waitress is slow that night, it's good to have a kid at the table to make runs to the bar.

Stan your response makes sense, especially:

Remember, its not just YOUR night for bowling but its also EVERYONE elses in your league.

It's tough situation for a Bowling Center to deal with. You have extremes, unfortunately you have parents unwilling to watch their kids and then you have adults unwilling to change their behavior (As many stated to me in a post similar to this).

THIS IS WHERE A LEAGUE NEEDS TO BE UPFRONT ABOUT WHAT TYPE LEAGUE IT IS!

Leagues are so desperate to fill teams now, I think these situations happen more. You as league need to define your league, if you put things to vote, you go with the majority. It's that simple.

I bring my kids to bowl. They are well behaved and listen. They eat The food at the center we are there buy there food. My kids never go near the approach unless they are bowling. They know better, there is plenty of room. They sit and color all night when not talking to each other or thier freinds.

My wife comes accasionally but not much since we have 4 month old.

For a mixed/fun league then I don't care who is there as long as they are behaved.

For a money/late league, kids shouldn't be at a 9 o'clock league and if you can't find a babysitter then you shouldn't have signed up for the league in the first place.  Children are a responsibility, not a rite.

Of course if it was up to me, there would be no alcohol allowed while bowling in a league either.  You can't drink while participating in any real sport.
