Please help if you can
« on: January 02, 2010, 11:59:26 PM »
Just found out iam gonna be a little sick for awhile I throw 16 now when I tried to even pick one up I couldnt hold to to my chest and I had to drop it. I was thinking 15 bit 14 might be better as the night goes on. I also will be getting a new ball but dont know what to get. Iam a lefty had decent speed play mostly outside would like something with a even arc and good hitting when it gets to the pocket. Thanks for reading and any help is appreciated.

there is no real technical difference between 15 and 16 lbs... actually when you read all the spec online about a ball, those are off 15lb balls. i wouldnt go too light to like a 13 because at that weight the cores become pancakes in all balls.
if you are really not feeling well, the best thing to do is just take a break but there is no real difference between 14-16lb balls. as for the ball, if you dont mind spending the money the mutant cell is a nice even rolling ball and it has some surface to it which would help to compensate for the fact that you will start to throw it harder... if you just want a cheap ball to try something i recommend the columbia freeze to everyone, hands down the best performance to price ball out there!!!! you could drill 3 of them for less that $400 and you could play around a bit with weights and drillings.

It's true that when you drop to 13 lb you don't get the same core that's in heavier balls, but not all companies go all the way to pancake cores.  I know that Brunswick and Hammer switch to a lighter weight generic core instead of a pancake, and I suspect most other companies do also.  --  JohnP
