Good houses in the Pittsburgh area?
« on: August 27, 2012, 06:18:13 PM »
I'm taking a trip down to Pittsburgh later this week.  Since I will have a little time on my hands, I was wondering where there are some good houses to throw a few games.  To give a better point of reference, I will be staying in the Green Tree area.  Also, I was wondering what conditions you guys may see down there and of course wood or synthetic.

If there any AMF houses, that would be good to know too since I have that SummerPass they have been running this year.

Over the summer, people have said they have been dry.  I know that leagues start tomorrow night so the shot my change.  But over the last two years... they are normally on the dryer side.

I used to live in Pittsburgh and I bowled @ Forward lanes in Squirrel Hill.  I have no idea of their affiliation, but it was always a fun little spot to bowl.

tommyboy,

go visit west pike bowl in the sw suburbs of cannonsburg, its about 20 minutes southwest of where you are in the greentree bourough,  go see center manager tim pfeifer, former member of the junior team usa.  he runs a fantastic place, just tell him the college bowling chink sent you here., and he'll know who it is.  great center and great people.
