Anyone Ever Try Bowling In Socks?
« on: March 19, 2009, 01:24:37 PM »
I decided to make a stupid thread before i start doing homework for 5 hours,

One day i was practicing with one of my teammates, he told me to bowl a game in my socks and he'd buy me a soda, so yea, free soda? alright!! i didn't think how hard it was. You couldn't imagine how many times i've slipped and fell on my ass, wow, has anyone else tried bowling in your socks? i know it's stupid but i had fun.

One of my friends bowled with his Vans on. The approaches are so tacky at my local alley he had to otherwise he would slip in bowling shoes. The guy at the desk noticed him doing that and yelled at him.

Had a friend of mine bowl in his socks one night because he was drunk and spilled his beer all over his shoes.  He decided to bowl in socks, he is a high rev, high speed player and when he threw his first ball his feet went out to the side and he was parallel to the lanes in midair before crashing onto the floor.  After checking to see if he was ok we all about pissed our pants.

It is quite common to wear a sock on ones sliding shoe but not the non sliding shoe.  One needs traction on the non sliding shoe in order to get the power needed for the sliding foot.

still, even with traction in the other foot, the slide is too long, i'm used to a short slide

The Bowler's Slide Sock is nothing like an ordinary cotton sock.  I suspect other slide socks are different also, but don't have experience with them.  --  JohnP
