I drilled a new Mutant Cell this am.
I put the same drilling on it that is on my Virtual Energy, Dual Thumb, which I have had on several balls.
I have doubled check all the measurements. The ball rolls over the thumb. Depending on my release, it will start on the thumb after a rev or two, then flare away, or it will start rolling ok, and about 15/20 feet down the lane it will start bumping down the lane. I used two different wrist braces, same result. I had three other balls with me drilled exactly the same measurements, one with the same layout and they all rolled great, (all shiny).
I have tried every release I know, but at some point it rolls over the thumb.
I have had this problem, three times in the last 6 months, everytime it has been a ball with an aggressive surface without polish. This ball, my Dynamo and ocassionally my 930 Track. I have never been able to solve the problem.
Questions:
1. What thumb pitch change can I try to move my track away from my thumb? I am currently 3/16 away, 1/8 forward.
2. Can a too aggressive surface, cause a track to be in a different place than a shiny surface which enables the ball to skid a little at release.
3. Any other suggestions?
