azo website
« on: July 03, 2003, 05:09:59 AM »
I myself am a webmaster, and I was browsing and landed on AZO's website. I was highly dissapointed with their website has it was probably one of the worst designed sites I have ever seen in my life. I could make a website for them 100 times better than what they have now.

OMG that is bad. How can a company have a website like that? Surely they must have at least one person in thier company with enough taste to redo that site :/

I don't usually do this, but ...

STOP WORRYING ABOUT THE FREAKING WEBSITE APPEARANCE AND LEARN ABOUT THE [expletive deleted] BALLS!

Yes, we can all design better website appearances but how many of us can design great balls??? 1 out of 10,000 ???

Charlest, if you're a bowling ball company and you come out with QUALITY products AND you want to show off your QUALITY products on the internet, make a QUALITY website. It shows a lack of professionalism and makes me wonder exactly what type of quality can it be if they don't have at least a decent looking website.

I hear what you're saying, but a small company is still a small company. They may not have had much choice in the matter; besides this matter should be laid at the feet of, not AZO, but Lanemasters, who now owns AZO. AZO is still notapproved by the PBA; so they probably can't even afford that. Yes, I know a good web master is not really that expensive.

I don't think it has to do with professionalism so much as priorities: what can they afford that is most valuable to them. The fact that it exists at all is a major plus. That fact that more experienced programmers don't like it may not be the most important factor. Remember even bad notoriety is good publicity.

I agree with charlest....who gives a crap about some cruddy web site if you've seen the balls in play.  AZO might as well fly a plane with the ad trailing for all that matters.  I own three of their balls, and I'd have to say the equipment is superb.  If you're looking for some raw power at the pocket, AZO is the best company in hit and carry compared to anything else out on the market.  Sure they don't have incentives like Visionary does, or great marketing, but the balls sell themselves.

Thats the thing. I dont wanna try them. So leave it be. My point is thats its pitiful for a company to have a website like that. Theres no reason for that. And good webmasters arent that expensive.

I had a Red Fire but sold it. It was for medium-light to dry-ish but had too huge a backend. Most dries I see are on the spotty side; so big hooking dry lanes balls are not for me. This i sth eone I tried several surface mods on; it comes polished and as AZO says it should stay polished. You can polish AZO balls that come dull But DO NOT dull/sand AZO balls that come polished.

Just ordered a Blue FIre; can't wait to see what it does.

Have a Drastic Spec-R. Useful for medium to medium-light oil patterns. 3" pin drilled 1:30 with CG on negative side, about a 4" x 5.5"; a lotta length with another huge and consistent backend, not flippy but strong, VERY hard arc with good-to-excellent hitting power. I like it a lot.

AZO balls aren't approved by the ABC?
