Back end finish

What ball has the sharpest "back-end" with all things equal. Lay-out, revolutions, lane surface, speed etc.? My chart shows: Global The Nuts Pearl, Columbia Ransom Demand, Encounter, Elite Platinum, Hammer No Mercy and No Mercy Beat'n, Taboo Electric Silver/Blue, Roto Grip Epic Odyssey.  All are rated at 17.5 Back-end.

Having only thrown the nuts pearl, I have to say it does hang a left pretty hard. I like it. Probably going to drill a second one to backend even harder.

While the Ransom Demand is the best all around ball I have ever thrown, I don't consider it to be as sharp on the back end as rated, more of a strong arc.  But, its at 3000 with no polish, pin down drilling.  Never tried it with polish.  Don't have any experience with the others mentioned, normally a strong pearl would have the sharpest back end given the proper condition.

The Nexxxus F(P+S) has the most hook on the backend in the Brunswick Lineup! It has more snap than the Nexxus F(P+R) and is 4 boards stronger overall. The Nexxxus F(P+S) is clean through the front but really picks up when reaching friction. The WWRD for the Nexxxus F(P+S) is August 8th.

I have to be honest I don't see really any of the balls you listed as being true "backend" balls.  Sure they hook a good bit downlane...but backend comes from two things....lots of glide and then a quick release of energy.  Balls with big cores and strong covers tend to bleed energy more in the midlane...thus losing some backend pop.

To me the biggest change of direction balls are things like Victory Roads, Bandits, Eruptions, 708As...etc.  Stuff that stores lots of energy until they encounter enough friction to unload it all at once.

hey russell you seem to be pretty smart about bowling balls? do u drill equipment? maybe run a pro shop in atlanta area lol!!!!what's up guy crossroads has a little bit of back ends too or is it the bowler? lol

I may have a shop or something :)  Crossroad is pretty angular, but bleeds just a touch more energy off in the midlane than the Victory Road.  I have both drilled almost identical and the Victory Road is a direct ball down from the Crossroad.  It lets me stay in the same place and just ball down.

Definitely take the Encounter out of the equation. I have one and it is more mid-lane roll than sharp back-end. If i am playing straight the ball is a beast, if I am bending it, the Encounter just kind of fizzles down lane. Just my 2-cents.

I agree with the Taboo black statement.

As a reaction maximizer I find the ball with a ball trial layout.  Go long and snap to be virtually unusable!

I usually do on these monsters.  A friend of mine who is very good and a mostly up the backer is KILLING with the Taboo Black.

For me at the same ball trial of Ebonite Columbia and Track balls the Track 716T was great for all of the opposite reasons.  Smooth heavy traction with a continuous penetrating backend.  Lefty heaven!
