BACK PAIN
« on: March 21, 2013, 06:49:52 PM »
When I bowl with my 16 pound ball after a few frames I can feel some tightness in my lower back the ball do not feel heavy and I feel comfortable at the line. When I roll 15 lb I do not feel  the tightness maybe it is pinched nerve need feed back

I have the same problem...  Switched from 15 to 14 and the back is much better and no loss of carry..  Hope the back feels better.

When your body talks to you, you should listen.
When your body screams at you, you better listen.

I think you should go see your doctor.  Listen to what Charlest said.  Your body is complaining so there is a problem and the proper first person to help diagnose that would be your physician.  Now, if it was pain in your hand (fingers, thumb), talk to your ball driller first.  If your doctor can find no problem, then ask an instructor to watch you bowl.  There may be an issue with your approach or delivery.

Go see a chiropractor. Helped me when I had back spasms for 5 weeks.

I used to have back spasms when I was a sophomore on the high school bowing team. I was also overweight, and when I started exercising, building endurance and core muscle, and losing weight, I stopped having pain.
Back spasms while bowling are horrible. Obviously, I do not know your physical capabilities, but exercise is advisable.
And of course, see a professional!

I don't think this something you should have a bowling instructor look into. I think you should describe your bowling approach (or if possible show it) to your physician.

Sometimes I have late timing and lunge on the last step instead of sliding for some reason i lost my footwork when I went from 4 to 5 steps when my footwork is right I can avg around 230 to 240 with no problem on today's conditions right now it's 216 trying to get back to 4 steps is hard for me.

In that way, we can understand what you're trying to say.

Charlest, I see you are one of us....

But seriously... Go see a doctor/chiropractor. Your back is not something you want to play with.
