« on: February 22, 2009, 02:54:55 AM »
How would one fix this ? I think my timing is late also. Is this a good thing.
I'm a five step approach but I think i take to big of a first step. Can some one walk me though the starting points of a five step approach ???? What would cause a high back swing ???? I want it to be about shoulder high, its above my head people say... please help me.

Nothing wrong with a high backswing really.  Late timing is sometimes preferred for crankers so that isn't always bad either.  If you think your swing is lagging behind just slow down your first couple steps or maybe start your swing a little earlier.

yea i have the same problem and the best thing to do is to try to keep your back straighter...i always have a habit of starting to lean the more i get into it...this causes your backswing to be higher...also try starting the ball earlier..this could take some of the muscle out of your swing to get your backswing lower and timing earlier..i should probably take my own advice

You do not need to lower your back swing. If it is high without forcing it that high then its natural. Just leave it alone. With your timing, just start your swing earlier, or slow your feet down.

A high, loose backswing is fine. A muscled, steep backswing is something you would want to fix.

The only issue a high backswing can cause is inconsistancies IF you are not free and it definitaly gives you more time to push and pull it. I have been working on my consistancy issues for the last 2 years due to my high backswing and finally it is starting to come around.
