Title: Bad game then two good games
Post by: BOWLGNUT on February 09, 2009, 07:29:08 AM: Has anybody has a bad first game then two good ones after that.Saturday night I bowl a 111,226,210 for 547.The first game only thing you think go wrong went wrong.Splits and chopped spares as well as miss ones as well with 5 good frames.Then I pull my head out of you know where and threw the ball with a slight hook in second and third game.

Last night went 157-221-243=621. I believe I was trying to hard to make something happen the first game rather than letting the lane tell me what it wanted.

Post by: dizzyfugu on February 12, 2009, 02:28:48 AM: Yes - In a tournament last year (6 games per round) I totally lost it in the second game for a 120 - my season' low game so far. NO idea what happened, it was on the same pair of lanes as the 1st game (which was 180ish, which is quite good for me), and after changing the lanes I was back as usual, finishing the set with a 186 average (*phew*).

Post by: bestbudzs24 on February 12, 2009, 03:40:40 AM: this topic fits me to a T. i have had that happen to me many times but the one that clearly sticks out is back a few years ago. i shoot 126,279,299 for a 704 lol. it was just split after split in that first game. that is why i love this game if you dont focus and exacute this game will bite you in the azz everytime. lol

Post by: Danes07 on February 12, 2009, 06:54:24 AM: I had several times this past summer when I would start out with around a 170 game and then average 250+ for the next two games to shoot around 670 or so. Pissed me off so much because if not for that bad first game I would have had a bunch of 700s during the summer league.

I had two opens and a bunch of spares, finished with a five bagger for 196. Next two games go 253, 226. Not a terrible first game, but frustrating nonetheless.

Post by: RDR on February 12, 2009, 08:47:26 AM: Just the opposite. On Monday I went 256, 248, 141. Never had a better shot at 700, and ended up with a 645. I'm stilled bummed about it. Oh well. I'll go out and try again tonight.
