USBC 299 Ring
« on: January 31, 2008, 04:49:28 AM »
Does anybody knows if USBC has stopped giving out 299 or 298 rings?

Can only speculate that it's cost prohibitive considering the lack of fees.

They're not discontinuing them.  You merely have to pay to receive them.

Wow.  Thanks.  No wonder when my teammate shot 299, he only got a 11 in a row plague.

I have noticed that there are less awards... but at the same time, the fees just keeps going up and up...

Probably the lack of fees and the number of very high scores (I had a 300 shot against me in my match play league last night - the second one this year thrown against me)

At least they brought back the older style ABC looking rings. They're so much better.

Yeah, I actually asked my league secretary to get me the old style ring for my 300, but ended up getting the newer one with the more rounded design.  However, it actually worked out well since I found it looks good on my hand since I have relatively long, thin fingers.  Therefore, the rounded ring looks pretty good proportionally on my hand, though by itself it doesn't look as good as the old rings.

Shot 299 earlier this year, received the 11-in-a row award.  No more 290+ rings anymore.

I got a 299 ring last season, I guess just before they discontinued giving them out. It's round & my older rings are oblong or oval.
