Why solid Hi End Stuff doesnt do much as my pearl ?
« on: July 05, 2009, 01:58:51 PM »
I have a question? For some reason when I purchse these high end heavy oil balls they dont move hardly for me on any lanes but I can throw pearls and some hybird cover stock and they hook great for me on oiler and other conditions. I have tried a virtual gravity, rogue cell, momentum swing cool noize black widow bite the dimension they never did crap but the second dimension roto grip mars and other midline stuff works great for me and other pearls!!! I have heard that some stuff just burns out on certain lane conditions but I see other people throw them great?

Hook does not mean boards covered, it's how early the ball reads the lane.  True heavier oil balls don't cover tons of boards, they start earlier and roll.

If you get on a truly tight condition you will see the benefit of having them around.

Most of the time, something like this IS due to the ball "burning up" too soon and having nothing left at the breakpoint.

And, remember, what OTHERS can do with a given ball doesn't mean that it will work for you the same way.  The ball that matches up with you is determined by YOUR individual stats. Speed, rotation, tilt, revs, angle all play a part and, like a snowflake, no two are the same.

SOLID coverstocks GENERALLY offer more friction with the lane surface than pearl coverstocks, and will GENERALLY cause them to burn off their energy earlier on the same conditions than a pearl will.

Ditto and ditto.  Two informed responses.  They're correct.

Especially if you have slower ball speed and dryer lane conditions.
