ball at the beginning of approach
« on: June 22, 2009, 07:38:46 AM »
While I was in the practice session of a recent PBA Regional, I was watching Patrick Allen and Matt O'Grady at the beginning of their approach. When they held the ball in their stance, they appeared to be lining it up with something on the ground. I don't know if its their foot or the board they are lining it up with but I was curious if this is something coaches are teaching nowadays. Everybody probably notices PA looking at the ground then at the lane at the beginning of his approach.

I feel bad for the bowler''s defenceless equipement when the bowler is not bowling up to par. . . .don''t you?

In PA's case I'm not sure he is looking at the ground.  I think he may be looking to check his hand placement.
