Average, High Game, and Series

Mine Avg: between 222 and 231.  300x8 and 799 with numerous 790's.  I've opened up 300, 279 and blown it. 285, 280 and blown it.  279, 290 and blown it.  I've had at least 10 good chances the last year and a half and can't get the monkey off my back.  It's starting to drive me nuts!

Balls in the bag and order they come out:
#1/2 Nano and Anarchy #3/4- Virtual Energy/Polished VG   #5-Big Hit (spare and really dry)  #6- Gravity Shift
#7- Teal Rhino Pro (oldie but a goodie)

Roughly 215 average.
High Game: 300
High series: 782

The best shot I had at 800 was with - ironically - a ball I hated for every night I threw it except one night: a Storm Trauma Response. But on this one night, I opened with 279, then 278. The solid 10 on my fill ball in Game 2 should have been my clue what to expect in Game 3. I left 6 10-pins in the last game and grinded out a 217 for 774.

Closest I've been was 267-269. Closed with 210 for 746.

Second closest was 278-248, then 222 for 748.

Best I can do. Can't even get to 750...

Avg 219 (currently, down 5 pins from last year)

Game: 300 x5

Series: 796

Last year I went 794 and 796 on back to back nights, couldn't close out the 10th. I can't recall the actual games, but it came down to needing a double in the 10th both times. Made good, not great, shots both times and ended up leaving a 7 pin on the first and second shot respectively both times. Talk about a frustrating, yet good, week of bowling!

I avg 218 in one league and 223 in another. I have 4 300 games. I have had 2 chances at 800 this year. The best chance I had was needed the 1st strike in the 10th did not catch it on the release good enough and left the 2 10 split. Shot 781.

195 average, down 17 pins this year.  Have 2 sanctioned 300 games.  High series is 786 in 2008, ironically without a 300 game.

Avg: 190
High Game: 300
High Series: 740

I've had a bunch of sets that should have been way better, but that brain of mine always seems to block my body from doing the same shot time after time.

Current composite average - 210.  High game - 300, high series - 784, both in the summer of 1972 using a Black Diamond on lacquer finished lanes.  Average at the time was around 195.  --  JohnP

High Avg :  210  a few years ago

High Game :  300 x 5

High Series : 778

Why have i not shot 800??  probably because if i do put together a good 3 game set, its usually in the low to mid 700's...

I've had a couple shots at shooting 800... the last time, came 2 yrs ago, i shoot 760, and going into the 10th frame of every game i am on a good string of strikes, and go spare -count.....  for a 250something game..

when I shot 778, in 2004, i went 242-237-299, first two games i was bowling good, and encountered some carry down, and mid 2nd game i missed a easy 4 pin... which probably caused me to miss 800..

I did have another time, i went 300-224-221, and second game, i went open -open the next 8 strikes lol.... bad part was i bowled the second shift league on the same pair of lanes and went 267-269-210...... dooh.....
