Ball choice and strategy for Wolf oil pattern

'll be bowling on my first sport pattern in about a week, which is the Wolf oil pattern, and was looking for some advice regarding ball choice and lane play strategy. My current arsenal includes the following:

Hy-road Nano (2000 ab)
Code Red (4000)
Hy-road Pearl (4000 ab)
Matchup Pearl (4000 ab)

I'm left handed with med/high ball speed and med revs. I also have a ball spinner and abralon pads so changing surface is an option.

My initial thought is to start with the Hyroad Pearl playing a closed angle to around board 4 at the breakpoint.

I wouldn't necessarily use pearls on a short pattern like Wolf.  You may have better luck with the HyRoad Nano staying up the back. 

Ultimately it is impossible to know what will work before hand.  Be prepared to try areas of the lane not normally associated with short patterns if the typical doesn't work.

I just watched "Stranger Things" seasons 1 & 2 over the past two weeks and this sentence right here is scarier than both seasons combined.

Watch videos on YouTube of people bowling on the pattern.

HyRoad Nano with surface might be your best bet. 32 or 33 foot pattern depending on which version is used. Urethane is the universal choice for the most part on it, surface on the Nano might be able to bleed enough energy

For me would be my epoxy ball for sure.  Of course since I am not Chris Barnes I won't average 240+ on it with that ball like he did back in the day.

In reading a few other posts it sounds like that is the consensus and that pearls are not preferred for shorter patterns. I'm sure that is the case, but wouldn't solids with more surface not have enough oil and burn up too much energy before hitting the pocket and roll out?

Would a ball like the Match Up Pearl that has a high RG and low differential with some surface (e.g. 2000 ab) be a decent option, or is a pearl coverstock just that risky on a shorter pattern? Thanks.

Short patterns you want to control the backend. Short pattern does not mean low volume. There's a lot of dry so you don't need a quick response cover like most pearls are. A rollout shot isn't terrible if you learn how to use it to your advantage

Is urethane viable on Wolf (ie enough head oil)?  That is one way you control the backend.

Urethane is very viable on Wolf. Start off around 5 at the end of the pattern and go from there. This isn't a house shot. You can't fling it to the ditch like Cheetah and watch it bounce.
