Ball choice for a stroker
« on: October 11, 2022, 05:12:06 PM »
What would be a good ball for a stroker that would allow me to continue to play up 5,6, or 7 when the lane are drier and hooking too much?  My ball speed is around 14 on the monitors with medium revs.  Moving in a bit, say 12-5, is not always an option since most everyone else plays inside of me and burns that area up early.  Any ball suggestions that might work for what I need?

Move further into the oil.

14mph on the monitor and medium revs would have you matched or a little rev dominant. You have to change your focus from playing the dry to using the oil to your advantage

It is more about where to play than the ball choice.  Once a line breaks down finding a tamer ball usually doesn't work.  You have to be able to make large moves inside.

Lol, all of the above is pretty much what I've previously been told by some of my better bowler friends.  It hasn't been as much of a problem for me the last few years, but this year the amount of oil being put out is definitely lighter than my game likes.  Sounds like more practice is in order.  Thanks everyone.
