vids of me chucking rock
« on: July 12, 2010, 05:30:03 AM »
I am trying to shoot new videos since I got one of those pocket HD cameras now. These videos were taken on my Samsung Blackjack sometime last year.

Let me know what you think.

Please, if you're going to be a d!ck about it, don't bother commenting.

Constructive criticism is much appreciated.

I have vids on youtube of my throwing Jigsaw (which I will be selling in the next few days) and my Reign

Links to vids:

My current arsenal includes:
Columbia 300 Perfect Rival
Hammer Jigsaw
Storm Reign & Natural (best ball ever)
Nu-Line The Gauntlet (my favorite)
900 Global Break Out (my new toy)

You are working waaaaaaay to hard. The bending at the waist (forward) is causing you to fall off balance on every shot.

In order to repeat shots with regularity you want to use less muscle instead of more. Try to keep your hips under you at release, instead of behind you, (torso more upright) and you should make a giant step in the right direction.

This will also let the big muscles of the legs carry the load instead of the smaller muscles of the lower back. You will repeat shots with more consistency because the "body mechanics" will be more sound. You have plenty of strength, but you need to use it more wisely, in my opinion. Less is more...

Good luck to you.

slow your feet down.. stay under the ball more.. open your shoulders until the release point...

At the beginning of your video you say "I'm still avg'ing 210".. ok?

Hey guys,

Well the comment at the beginning was for all the potential people who were going to bash my vid. At one point I had my bowl.com page linked to my youtube account, but I was told to remove it.

Second, I have changed my delivery slightly, starting mainly with my feet. I am slower now. This was back in third quarter of last year.

I will upload new videos, one of my Storm Natural, NuLine Gauntlet, 900 Global Break, and maybe a new Storm Reign video

Thanks for the pointers thus far.

Keep em coming

Agree with notclay. Build from the ground up literally working on footwork, then body positioning and a lot of other things will follow. You've been working on slowing down the feet which is good. When you practice next time try to almost "sit" into the shot. It will help moving those hips forward and keeping your body more upright instead of bent at the waist. This will help with leverage at the release which will allow you to work less to achieve the reaction you see.

Best thing I can Say Is Find yourself a USBC Cert Coach. You have some area of concern that could be worked out with a coaches eye.   I Do not know what state you live in but there are great coaches all over the U.S. 1st Time I went to Fred Borden my ave went from 202 to 223 and he only changed 3 minor details on my style.  After working with Fred Borden and Ron Hatfield over the last few years they have inspired my to get my Coaches Cert. I am know a Silver level. Work with a coach it is to hard to show or tell you what to fix  in a Forum .  A few lessons is a lot cheaper the a new ball and if you get better you can when your money back in pots on league night.

Accuracy will always suffer when there is a lack of balance. That would be the first thing I would say to work on. Yes you do muscle it some, but but your balance is terrible, no offense. Good luck with your game.

Wow!  No balance at foul line at all.  210+ avg?  On a THS, yes.  This is one of the biggest problems I see today...everybody worried about which new ball to throw but no attention given to their physical game.  Get a coach. He'll straighten you out.

Hey CRD,

I know you are the a-hole on this site. I'm aware that you never really have anything positive to say, but I have been working on my balance and Im not falling off my shots anymore. I will be posting a new video soon so you can see the balance improvement portion. These vids are from 8 months ago so I have obviously been working on the balance part. And I mainly throw a Nu-Line Gauntlet, a ball you proabably never heard of released back in 1999. and a Storm Natural.

Your game is not very good but thanks to walled up lanes where you can heave the ball down the lane, spray it all over the place anywhere right and the ball comes back to the pocket and the hand grenades we have for bowling balls these days, you have been made a gorillia from a monkey.

Save your money on the balls and take some professional lessons and learn how to bowl.

I''m aware that I am not mechanically good, but I can make adjustments easily when it comes to heavier oil and sport shots. Im not saying I''m a good bowler, but there are more things to bowling than just the ball.

Also, no need to call me a gorilla or a monkey. You could easily go play hide and go f*ck yourself

Whatever, jerk.  Themezz says the exact same thing I said but in much harsher terms and I'm the bad guy. Whatever.  And if by a-hole you mean one of the guys who tells it like it is and doesn't play the BR Political Correctness game like most on here, then I'm guilty as charged.  Love it when idiots like you post themselves bowling, ask for honest opinions, then can't handle it when the reviews aren't thumbs up.  Wait until guys like the Stroke, CgsSuck, and Harry Ballsagna get a view of your "skills". Then the fun will really start.

I'm busting your chops dude. I know it gets to you. I take what everyone says with great consideration. As you see I did respond to themeez as well attributing that the balls have helped me, but I do avg well on sport shots and longer oil. I'm just as big of a ball breaker. And I wasnt posting a hey look at my skills vid, it was more of a hey, could you offer some advice video. saying that i suck is not advice. that is called an insult. as i said in the disclaimer, constructive criticism is wanted. not bashing and then trying to make up for it
