i have a columbia 300 trottle r, drilled with the pin above the bridge. I got it off a guy i know. The ball cracked from finger to finger, through the pin. Just curious if any of you guys know columbia's policy or can i get the ball replaced? I will take pics in a little while and post em up!

the camera isn't the greatest!!!!! the crack is about 1/16 into the bottom of the pin, and arcs down towards the fingers, don't even fully go to the fingers, its about 1/16-1/32 from touching the center of them.

Columbia’s warranty policy is that the pin cannot be with 1 inch of any hole. Tough to tell by the pictures but it looks to be closer than that. Also I believe the warranty is only good for one year and the ball maybe getting close to that.

Also the use of finger inserts voids any warranty.

Since you bought it used I would say you are stuck with it unless you can get him to go to bat with his pro. Some proshops can get balls replaced even with inserts used but they have to follow the 1 inch rule, bevel the holes, and have at least a ¼ inch bridge.

If they are hair line cracks you can generally use the ball a long time before or if it ever breaks out. The cracks themselves don’t hurt the performance of the ball.
