I know this has probably been discussed before in the distant past, but I for one would like to see companies maybe have a "classic" ball or two come out every now and then. I am not saying to do a mass production of them, but maybe a run of a few thousand of them of some of the faves of the past. I know Ebonite brought back the Puma and Nitro R2 a few years back. Would be cool to see some of the oldie but goodies released once in awhile. Examples of balls I would like to see come back out:

Brunswick: Teal Rhino Pro, Gold Rhino Pro
Columbia: Rock On, Messenger Ti Pearl (blk/gold), Tour Boss
Hammer: Original 3D Solid and Pearl
Track: Critical Mass, Triton Heat, Elite Pearl, Code Red
Ebonite: Black Panther
Storm: Tour Power, Trauma, Trauma ER, Shock Trauma, X-Factor

Like I said before, just pick one ball each year and release it as a "classic" run. What other balls would you like to see? We talk about past faves all the time. I am not talking about balls that came in within the past few years.

The Teal Rhino, Rock On, and Triton Heat have had re-issues over the years. I know not necessarily recently, but I don't see them doing it more than once.

I already said they re-made the Danger Zone and it didn't sell. Do you really think they'll make it a 3rd time?

That's about the number you would need if you were to get a manufacturer to make you a private label ball, or to do an exclusive remake. If you have enough money, you can hit up one of the companies to do a remake just for you.

I'd have to do some searching, but I think one of the company reps said it takes about a day to retool the factory for each new ball they are producing. You'd have to factor that into the equation. Is it worth it for a company to go through all of that to make 250-500 balls?

Also, not sure if they would have to go through the USBC approval process again or not.

Bowlingball.com has already had Brunswick re-make 5 or 6 different balls from the Brunswick and Quantum lines. Yes, 500 is THE number, as far as I know.
And, no, no one does this anymorebecause they just don't sell. There's a ground swell of 50 - 100 of us who know and appreciate some of these older balls. The younger crowd does not know them or if they know them, they do not appreciate them. So the balls sit there for ages. THEY DO NOT SELL IN ENOUGH QUANTITY. End of story, Jerry!

I use this older stuff all the time, funny how no one comes up and says 'wow what is this, it rolls great!!' They're straight off to the shop though when a few boxes show up......

Yes it's hard to sell the old school stuff when the Mission is the ball of the hour. I have to vote for a reissue of the X-factor too that was a great ball. I believe the reason for the limited number of Gladiator LE's from Visionary was the balls were ordered by someone and they canceled the order after the balls were made.

columbia please remake the cuda/c pearl. you remade the solid a few years ago, but i would love a new pearl to go with the solid.

The Hammer 3D was Faball and you won't see it from the new Hammer/Ebonite company! They won't make anything that can't be a single pour core, to many problems and man hour to build the multi-piece core like Track/Columbia did in San Antonio! I was told the were built like a puzzle to assemble them and the cost is a lot higher to build these and maybe they add to the demise of them! Just my $.02, Bruce

My vote goes to the original Danger Zone. Simple PK18 solid (black!), with a quite powerful but simple core - nothing extreme but anything a bowler might ask for.
Not the biggest hooker, not the sharpest snap, but IMHO one of the best packages that hit the lanes for about 10 years?

For similar reasons, the Trauma would get another vote from me.

I can assure you that many of the older bowling balls still roll great on todays condition. Most people are finding out that the biggest hook in the box available is too much for most conditions.

I love a lot of the recent Brunswick bowling balls that use the PK17 and PK18 cover on newer cores. Most cores aren't that different in RG and Dif from the ones from the mid to late 90s. So it isn't much different from having one of those great bowling balls. (Copperhead,Swarm Avalanche Solid, Groove/Slingshot ect)

There are plenty of DZ remakes still available if you look.

The remake of the Puma didn't really look anything like the original. Same core, which they still use, but the cover and design looked completely different. Other wise I would have bought one.

The Pulse and Pulse Pearl didn't do bad.

you dont read to good do ya kid? As stated the danger zone was rereleased a few year back. It was a terrible ball rolled nothing like the original.

Would like to see Ebonite re-release the black Tidal Wave Wipeout, Wildcat and Savage......especially the Wipeout.

I would also say the original Ti-Messenger, but they came out with the Low RG version a few years back, which I did get.

I would agree with you on that one, I know they won't re-make it, but I would buy a few of them.

Did anyone notice that when Nebraska were bowling for the womens title(college of course!!) They were mostly using a 'nebraska' branded ball, actually it was Red Pulse!! Now theres a lesson for everyone right there(unless there still in the shop salivating over the next new wave of stuff!!)
