Ball for 3rd game
« on: October 02, 2016, 02:04:04 PM »
Looking for suggestions for a ball for game 3.  Medium lanes......stroker.....revs around 200...I play up the 10 board. Looking for a medium to low cost ball.

Boost, Xcite, Tag, Cyclone, etc. I like my Boost Pearl when I go around the pattern but it's super clean. Xcite would be a bit more controllable.

Freakshow
Most used:
Motiv Venom Shock (14)
DV8 Grudge Hybrid (14)
Hammer Scandal (14)
DV8 Freakshow (14)

Sometimes.
C300 Swerve (14)
Motiv Jackal LE (14)

Retired:
Roto Grip Sinister (13)
Motiv Jackal (14)

Given to a no-thumber in the club:
Brunswick T-zone (13)

Might stick with Motiv from now on.

Depends on what you're balling down from.

+1 Coorzero, couldn't agree more. It's all about what your performance ball your using at that time.

My first ball is a 900 global protocol.....nice ball.....recovers well from a pulled shot but too much by game 3.  I have a slingshot drilled up, but have never tried it in dryer lanes.

I usually ball down to my IQ Tour Pearl, or Venom Panic in the 3rd game, as their is a defined area down lane I can play and my 3rd game scores have increased: Do to control of the core/coverstocks that doesn't overreact on the back.

I know that 10 board is your comfort zone but in my experience trying to ball down to keep from following the oil in is a losing proposition.   Better to change balls as you move in and ball up rather than trying to ball down and not move

Slingshot should be perfect for game 3, particularly if you like to keep your angles straighter.  If it seems a little lazy around the corner, then consider the Freakshow.
