How tight should the thumb hole be?

How tight is too tight? Any advice? How do you know when to add or remove tape? Right now I have 1 Magic carpet and 4 1inch white up front. How much are you guys/girls using?

ive always had a slightly loose thumbhole and after reading these replies and especially this one here i think i want to make a change...... how much reverse would be sufficient to see a comfortable change? if i had to guess i would have to say that i have 0 reverse pitch in my thumb right now

As tight as I can get it.  Usually I drill for just adding 1 piece of white tape in the front.  When my thumb is in the ball I can not feel any pressure at all.  I put the tape in for just a little friction and feel.  A funny thing last night,  someone came to me from another pro shop and asked about having an oval thumb hole drilled.  The driller at the other shop told him that it couldn't be done.  Thumbs are not round but the drill bits are.  Hmmmmm....  Drilled him an oval no problem.  So not only does your thumb need to be tight but also tight in the right places.

If you rip up the sides of your thumb, it's a little to tight and needs to be ovaled.  If you rip up the top of your thumb, it's a little loose and you need some tape.  Adjust accordingly with tape.

A better shop will fit if needed with 2 drill bits sizes being used for your thumb, my thumb hole is smaller at the bottom than the top with ovaling added.

Then we make a few of the molds and keep them around for future use, perfect thumb everytime.

Have thought of trying the Vise IT system but would cost a mint i dont have to fix my fav's, it would be good for 4-6 ball arsenal but in my case that would never work.
