I am left handed and currently have an old bowling ball. It is a NITRO. I am looking for a ball that I can turn a little more in oiler conditions. I don't throw the ball with a lot of speed. I am more of a medium speed guy. Any suggestions out there without killing the bank account. Also, I currently have a 16 pound ball and was thinking about getting a 15 pound ball with this year purchase.  Thoughts on that as well?  No preference on ball maker just looking for the best ball at the best price.

also the super charge from storm is a good chice. i own one and i can throw it on oily to medium-light lane conditions. just my opinion

Sounds like you may want something from the mid-performance line if you don't wish to break your bank account. From Brunswick either the Goliath (particle) or the Nemesis (resin) would be a good start, from Track you could consider the Slash as well.

Read up on the reviews on this site for the balls that are recommended and see if something fits what you are looking for.

And regarding whether to make a move to 15 from 16- do you feel fatigue after bowling a 3 game set at 16 lbs? Chances are you would need to move down in ball weight. 15's hit very well these days, so I don't think that would be a bad move, just be aware of rolling the ball and not overthrowing at the lower weight.

kfortune: Based on what I've seen from both balls (I only own the Slash, but know a number of people that throw the Freak A Zoid in league) the Slash can handle more oil than the Freak A Zoid, but I would say that the Freak makes more of a skid/snap movement compared to the strong arcing nature of the Slash. If you want a ball that handles more of a down and in line, then the Slash would be your ball. If you tend to be a slow speed bowler that likes to cover more boards and know there's a decent amount of drier boards outside of 5, the Freak A Zoid may be more to your liking.

I think if the lanes are oiler the Slash is the better choice, but I'm sure others will pipe in loudly for the Freak A Zoid....
