Ball for sore shoulder/arm
« on: October 18, 2023, 07:44:40 AM »
My shoulder is in bad shape and am planning shoulder replacement surgery for after the season. But in the meantime, which ball is weakest reactive that would be easy to get far enough down the lane with minimal effort?

The lanes are very dry, making it difficult to stay competitive—- especially by the 3rd game.

14 lb tropical surge is a good option for my slow ball speed

Thank you, both.

I’ll look into the Tropical Surge. And I have a Storm Pitch Black Urethane, but didn’t think of polishing it up. I’d definitely a dull surface right now. Used it last night and it was better then my other options, but still not quite enough length.

Tropical Surge is cleaner through the heads and midlane than my polished purple hammer

If you're still throwing at least 14lbs, I'd look into the Radical Spy. It's plastic, but a textured plastic and also has an asym core. It's good shiny, but can be sanded for an earlier reaction. As a rev dominant two hander, I own 3 of them. Shot 300 with one.

Get an old Brunswick Crimson Phantom......I had one when I threw 16 , and found a 14 pounder when I dropped weight 1 1/2 years ago.......that ball (because of the core they put in it) gets more length than anything I have ever thrown..longer than plastic, longer than a 1960's rubber ball I had, and longer than any reactive....first time I ever used it on the wolf pattern --it was polished and a fine underlying grit on it and that ball wasn't enough for all that backend.  3 on ebay 2 are 16 one is just under 15...;.but pricey.........but well worth it if you want length.

Ordered the Tropical. Also might get another cortisone shot in the shoulder.
