Changing the ball's surface is a better and usually more appropriate solution than a weight hole, UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES. Ask AZO what the stock finish is on the ball and sand it or nylon pad it with the next lower grit. If you don't like the results, you can always re-sand/re-nylong-pad it back to the original level. Once you drill a hole, you may affect the core, plus refilling the holel rarely seems to restore the ball to what it was previously.
You do realize that drilling the ball with the pin above the ring finger added length to the ball's "natural" reaction, right?
